Kain walked two miles from school to get to his house. He lives in an old rundown house in the more forgotten side of town, where buildings are abandoned and the streets are ultimately destroyed. Very few people ever visit or even come through the area, as it shows the abominable side of town.
The paint to his house had faded over the years to a dull gray color. The house lacked a yard, front door, and glass for windows. Once inside, the thought of someone living there would never cross your mind, all you would see would be emptiness. The floor ripped apart, tiles scattered everywhere, walls beat down, and the ceiling looks as if it's about to collapse. But once you walk down some more and discover a hallway, only one room stays standing, Kain's room.
In the midst of the darkness, the only sign of life is Kain's room. The only place that has been revitalized by Kain himself over the years. The first thing you'd notice would be his walls, painted green, obviously different than the dull gray tone. His floor was covered in carpet Kain salvaged from the other rundown houses. Attached around his room were seven flashlights to provide light. A twin-sized mattress with a pillow and 4 blankets laid on the carpet in the corner of his room. The room also had a desk, a phone, a lone fan for cooling, (No A/C) and a "fridge." But the only thing Kain used most often in his room was his bookshelf he made. The bookshelf was made of scraps of wood from the other houses. On the top of the bookshelf were Kain's achievements and awards along with a couple of pictures of his parents. The second shelf was comprised of the children's books his parents read to him. The third shelf contatined Kain's books and the last had Kain's academic books. Kain's room may not seem like much, but he treasured every inch of it.
Kain stopped at an old house near his, and took a long look at it. He never wanted any of this, but he tries to make the best of what he has.
