Reading – Lesson One, Summer Reading Project
Carolyn Mezzetti sat at her desk, straightening the papers. Mrs. Mezzetti smiled kindly as her students entered and took her seats. After the bell rang, she stood up and walked gracefully to the front.
“Welcome to Reading! I’m Mrs. Mezzetti and will be your teacher for this class.” She gestured to the board which read “Mrs. Mezzetti”
“During the summer, each of you chose a book to read from the Summer Reading List. Well, we are going to do a project using the book.” She grinned and giggled inwardly as she saw a couple of students sigh and bowed their heads.
“I want you to create a presentation about the book. It must include the summery, problem, solution, what you thought of the book, and your overall rating for it out of 10.
You can present this in anyway you choose, PowerPoint, paper, posters, ECT. This is due two weeks from now.”
Mrs. Mezzetti passed out a sheet to everyone; the sheet had the guidelines and due date for the presentations.
